My TBR pile

Some of the books from my TBR pile that i have already bought and still not got round to reading yet. Im so excited for them though! I swear every time i pick up a book i want to finish it as quick as i can just so that i can get to the next.
The Girl On The Train
Who hasn’t heard about this book yet? I’m highly anticipating this one because its been compared to Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn so many times and that is one of my favourite books ever. It kept me reading and reading and forcing everyone i knew to read it too so that i had someone to talk to about it with. Im hoping that this book does exactly the same so I’m going in with high expectations. This book is about a girl called Rachel who catches the same train every day to commute, during her journey she overlooks the houses and begins to feel like she knows the people that live in one house in particular, she notes how perfect they’re life is until she catches a glimpse of something shocking. Oh god i do love a good thriller and I’m betting that this will be adapted in to a movie before long too due to its popularity.
The Coldest Girl In Coldtown
Okay, i’ll admitted. I bloody loved the twilight books and i can’t say that i’ve read another vampire books since all those years ago. I mean i watched Vampire Diaries and i’m very tempted to start True Blood… But i haven’t had my vampire reading fix in quite some time. I was researching the author Holly Black after watching some youtube channels on book tube. I remembered her to be one of the halves that wrote The Spiderwick Chronicles, which i adored when i was younger especially because of there illustrations and hardback stylistic and authentic covers. Well anyways, i happened to stumble across The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black. It seems like a much more modern telling of vampires and is based around a girl called Tana who lives in a world where vampires are kept in walled, quarantined cities called cold towns. From what i know Tana is as a typical house party, she passed out in the bath tub and when she wakes up she finds that everyone has been killed by a vampire. In the house she is alone with this vampire and a guy who has been bitten but who has not yet transitioned. This is their journey.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Yes, i know. Im nearly 22 and i haven’t read the whole Harry Potter series yet?! Please don’t kill me. It was only last year that me and my housemate decided to start reading Harry Potter together. She’s read them all before and I have never read any of them apart from maybe a few pages of The Order of The Phoenix when i was about 9. I want to be able to say that i read the Harry Potter series because i remember the hype that they carried throughout my whole primary school life. I’d be in the playground and people would just be sat there staring into the book and even one of my teachers was obsessed, he had a Gryffindor scarf, a ton loads of HP merchandise and he read chapters of it to us each friday. Not only is it because of this, but i do love the movies and i even went to HP world in Florida last year and got myself a wand. I loved it so much. Anyways, back to the book. This is the next one in the series i need to read but its probably my least favourite movie out of the whole series. I just know i need to push through because after this comes Goblet of Fire and thats my all time favourite.
The Night Circus
In all honesty i dont know a great deal about this book. All i know is that it’s about a magic circus that only comes at night. The reason i picked up this book is because its mentioned so much on ‘Booktube’ its in so many people’s top 10 book lists, or favourite book of the year etc and i had a look on amazon and its so highly rated with A-HMAZING reviews. So i could not resist. I’m kind of liking the idea that i’m going to go into this one with no idea whats to come.
The Ocean At The End Of The Lane
Firstly to note, this book is a lot smaller in comparison to the others, its about half the size in thickness and the font is a lot bigger. But again, this is so highly recommended on book tube and this will be the first Neil Gaiman book i have read. I’ve been wanting to read something of his since i found out that he wrote Stardust (yano that movie) and Coraline (Tim Burton for the win. but creepy as fuck). This book is supposed to be about a man who returns to his old home that he lived in as a child, he recalls his childhood memories and a girl that claimed that the pond at the end of the lane was in fact an ocean. This is all i know but i am intrigued to find out if there is magic involved and whether he discovers anything out of the ordinary about this pond.
The Maze Runner Series
Last but not least, the maze runner series. I hadn’t heard of the series until i went and saw the first book in the cinema and it was so good. I love the Hunger Games series and i’d tried divergent since that but it really didn’t do anything for me and in fact i found that it dragged. This movie however was right up my street… a bunch of guys living in a strange field with tall walls surrounding them. None of them know how they got there or what there names are. The walls around them open and they have limited time to go through the maze and try to find a way out, but the maze changes every night and shifts as they move through it. Your asking yourself how did they get there? what is there mission? what is in the maze? etc? Its so gripping. When i walked out of the cinema i knew i had to read the trilogy especially because of how the first movie ended i was just like WHAAT and went on to amazon and ordered them straight away. I’ve still not got round to it but i recently saw the trailer for the second book adaption The Schorch Trials and i had to pause it half way through because i didn’t want to spoil it for myself. I just know that i need to read the first two books before i even go into that cinema and watch the next movie. The second book i’ve heard is also supposed to be the best in the series. Oh god. I need to read it now.
So thats it, if you have any questions, book suggestions or anything like that then please let me know. I’m always up for hearing recommendations of amazing books. Thanks guys.
